Improvement Tools: zip file FAQs
I have tried to Zip download a topic but it will not let me.
Does your PC have a zip download functionality? If not, you can download free zip software from the following websites.
- Winzip: http://www.winzip.com/prod_down.htm
- Winrar: http://www.win-rar.com/
I cannot open the documents I have zipped.
It might be that you need to extract the files from the zipped folders before your PC can open them, this can be done by simply dragging the documents from the folders themselves and placing them either on your desktop, or your hard drive. After you have extracted the documents, the individual files should open without problem.
My computer is not recognising the file type, and cannot find a programme to open them.
The length of the file name will be determined by where you have saved the files. If the file name is too long, your PC will erase the file extension.
To avoid this, please save the zip file to either your C-drive, or a pen drive. All files should then open without a problem.
I have tried all of the above and still cannot get the files to open.
All zip files associated with the Improvement Tools have been tested on a several widely used web browers to ensure they work. However, if you still encountering problems please contact: help@improvementnetwork.gov.uk and we will ensure the documents are forwarded to you.
