Fire service assessments (Audit Commission, 2009)
This report on fire service performance contains examples (at para 53) of sharing fire service buildings with other public services and community groups. This is providing wider community benefits in the form of establishing stronger links with local people and creating opportunities to raise awareness of fire safety.
Action stations – Improving Management of the Police Estate (Audit Commission, 1999)
Although published several years ago and aimed at the police service, this publication sets out the standards of sound asset management that are also applicable to the fire service.
